Preventative Care

“Prevention is key” cannot be stressed enough! Preventing disease is always more effective, safer for your pets and cheaper than having to treat the disease. This also saves your animal from pain, stress, and lifelong chronic changes to their lifestyle. At Valley Veterinary Services, we recommend at least years preventative care exams for all our patients!

These appoints help us not only establish a relationship with you and your pet, but also a baseline, so we can monitor and manage your pet’s health as things changes. This is a great time to screen for early signs of illness, but also use preventative measures such as vaccines specific to your pet’s lifestyle, pain management, parasite preventatives and more!

Dentistry

Does your dog or cat have bad breath, difficulty eating, swollen face, losing weight or teeth falling out? Pets need dental care too! In addition to routine brushing at home, pets need dental cleanings every 1-3 years. This includes a through sedated oral exam, ultrasonic scaler cleaning of the teeth and under the gums, as well as a finishing polish to seal the tooth off. In some cases of severe tooth root infection, or retained baby teeth, dental extractions may also be performed as necessary.

Vaccinations

Routine and regular vaccines are essential for our pet’s health! There are both CORE vaccines for routine vaccines as well as vaccines based on exposure pet’s lifestyle such as Leptospirosis, Rattlesnake and Flu. We recommend the following vaccine for our small animal patients:
